Friday Musings

Aloha, all, and happy Friday to those who celebrate! We are 13 days from the release of Worship the Image, which can be pre-ordered on Amazon here! Also, I will run a free book giveaway for Oneiros on Amazon starting on 26 April and running for 5 days!

Now that the marketing stuff is out of the way, let’s get to the fun stuff! I’ve completed the first chapter of the second book in the Worship the Image series. I don’t have a title yet, but I will send an update out as soon as I do. I aim to have the entire book beta read, edited, and published by 1 December 2025. I expect it to be around 80,000-85,000 words, and my initial feedback has been positive. The tone is slightly different but still full of witty banter and themes that impact our everyday life (consumerism, corporate greed, technology, AI, etc). It will still have a noir tone but won’t be as descriptively dark as Worship the Image. I expect this to be a trilogy, but the third book probably won’t be the end of the line for our characters. I have a lot of ideas!

What else am I up to, you might be asking? We are getting our floors redone, so I’m in my wife’s office with our two dogs. Fun fact: Huskies are fur factories, which I already knew, but what I didn’t realize was that they, apparently, have an extreme furminator switch they can turn on when they are locked in small enclosures. Needless to say, I have invested heavily in Hoover products.

I won't be surfing this week because of the floors, which is probably good because my body needs a break. I still miss it, though! In another two weeks, I will be free! So, I have been playing a lot of chess, working on the new WIP, and binge-watching The Righteous Gemstones (highly recommend). I also checked out Common Side Effects, which is an absolutely fantastic show, and started watching Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple TV—another great show.
